Tau Beta Spring Market
More than 25 specialty boutiques from Michigan and across the country will showcase their wares at Tau Beta Association's 9th annual Spring Market Thursday through April 28 at the Grosse Pointe Club, 6 Berkshire Place, Grosse Pointe Farms. The event offers two days of shopping for contemporary and classic jewelry, clothing, garden and home accents, and includes a preview party and raffle from 6-9 p.m. Thursday ($65 in advance, $75 at the door). From 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 27, a silent auction will offer items such as a Detroit Tigers suite and a two-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, Italy. New vendors include the Spice Merchant of Ann Arbor, Sarah Oliver handbags of California and Sara Campbell clothing of Boston. Proceeds benefit the Children's Center, Detroit. Market hours on April 28 are 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door. Check www.taubeta.org.
Lamp, chandelier are unique use of utensils

'Fruitful blossoms' seminar at the DIA
Noted floral designer Ron Morgan, who has designed window displays for Harrods and David Jones, will demonstrate his skills at the annual Elizabeth Sites Kuhlman Lecture on May 2 at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Sponsored by the DIA's Friends of Art & Flowers, Morgan's "Fruitful Blossoms" demonstration ($25) starts at 10:30 a.m., followed by a book-signing and optional luncheon in the Kresge Court ($25). Macy's hosts Waterford Crystal celebration
Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the timeless Waterford Crystal Lismore pattern, Jim O'Leary, Waterford's design director, will discuss Lismore and sign purchases from 6-8 p.m. April 27 in the second floor crystal department at Macy's Twelve Oaks, Novi.
